February is Bright
by Lydia Webber
I took my camera with me this past week. Often I take it on weekend trips or to festive events (you know, kids birthday parties and such) but it’s not usually stuck on my hip, mainly due to its size. Oh, it’s SOOO cumbersome when it bulges out from my purse. I’m here to say that I’m over it and it’s worth the minor 3lb weight. These were all taken in our neighbourhood except the library looking ones. Elise and I usually meet once a week at the U of A and keep each other accountable in our work. (This is so helpful for me).
All photos were shot on regular ole drugstore Fuji Superia 400. All are straight from the scanner. I changed a few to black and white.
We’re going on a little holiday to Vancouver/Keats Island on Thursday and I plan to bring one lens (50mm) and a handful of film. I can’t tell you how excited I am!
Also – the one black and white shot of me is kind of deer-in-the-headlights, no? Do my eyes always look this intense? I’ve embraced my strong nose and wide hips so I’ll just add my piercing stare to the pile and post this picture.
